Thank you ~ you ladies have given solid advice. It's an on going battle for me as to what I should write and what I shouldn't ~ thank you for your guidance, and most of all your prayers! :)

It's YOUR blog. I think as long as you maintain a standard of integrity and protect anyone who may not wish their names or lives to be posted publicly - then you can post whatever you wish.

Life is hard sometimes and a lot of people may be able to relate to what you are dealing with/going through.

This is a REALLY hard balance to find! There are so many things that I simply do not share. I have been burned badly by reactions to some of the things I have blogged about. I am still trying to find that balance, I have ended up simply not blogging as much because I do not want to invite more headaches! If you want to share you could always set some things to private and only allow certain people to view I guess, or just shoot out an email. You would never been depressing to me! I would love to be able to support you. I do realize though that there are some people out there who seem to just be looking for a way to tear others down.

I am here if you ever need someone to "talk" to friend! In fact, you were on my mind a lot yesterday!

Love ya!

Trish,
If God lays it on your heart to share, share. The person who hasn't walked in your shoes will not understand, but the person who needs to hear what the Lord has given you to share with her will not only find that common thread and identify, she will find comfort in the strength God has given you. My favorite verse is "(God) comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." (II Corinthians 1:4)
It's under my profile pic and on my new blog... www.capturedinhisreflection.blogspot.com. (you're the first I've told...I still have a lot to do on it.) Just pray for His guidance and then wait patiently for His answer. I'm praying for you, Trish. ~Mary

I think you can share what you're comfortable sharing, what's on your heart to share, and leave it at that.

I think it's a when you feel led to share, share kind of a thing. And when you don't, don't.

Thank you, Delaney! It's comforting to know that people who I have not yet met in person are praying for me and my family. We will meet in heaven if not on this earth!

I know there are LOTS of people who are in situations similar to mine. I am facilitating an online support group every Thursday evening using the book Setting Boundaries with Your Adult Children ~ the book has helped me see there are behaviors of my own I can change, and the group is helping me through encouragement. It's also good to be able to speak with other parents whose adult children are facing trials.

I say keep it real and share as much as YOU are willling to share. Someone always has struggles. Right now I have my own "Jerry Springer" going on and it will never end. I'll share some stories via e-mail if you wish... it'll make your heart cry and laugh all at the same time. :-) No one can judge you for they are not walking in your shoes... and if they do, they are not your friend and you do not need them in your life.

I have never commented... I don't believe... but I have been reading faithfully and praying feverishly... and I am a stranger!!! Yet, I am your Sister in Christ.
